DTZ Mock 1 — Arbeit, Bewerbung, erster Job
A complete DTZ rehearsal: Hören (25 min) whose Teil 1 is played exactly once, Lesen (45 min) with its five very different Teile, Schreiben (30 min) on four Leitpunkte — one written block of 100 minutes, no breaks, exactly like exam day. Submit and see all three bands measured against the real thresholds, plus the certificate verdict the Ausländerbehörde will read: B1, A2 — or nothing.
BEFORE YOU START — THE DTZ RULES
- Written: ONE 100-minute block — Hören (25) → Lesen (45) → Schreiben (30). The clock does not stop between sections and unused minutes do not carry over.
- Hören Teil 1 (four announcements) is played ONLY ONCE. Teile 2–4 are played twice. The recording is never stopped.
- Lesen Teil 2: eight ads a–h for five situations — and for exactly ONE situation there is no matching ad: write X. The X is a real answer worth a point.
- Schreiben: one half-formal letter, four Leitpunkte, all four obligations. Scored on Aufgabenerfüllung (8 P), Kommunikative Gestaltung (6 P), Formale Richtigkeit (6 P).
- Sprechen: approx. 16 minutes as a PAIR exam (a solo exam is possible) — Teil 1 über sich selbst (30 P), Teil 2 Bild beschreiben (35 P), Teil 3 gemeinsam planen (35 P). No preparation time.
- THE RULE EVERYTHING HANGS ON: Sprechen below A2 = NO certificate at all — however many points the written half scored. B1 certificate: Sprechen B1 AND at least one written section on B1.
- The bands: Hören+Lesen 45 P (B1 33 / A2 20) · Schreiben 20 P (B1 15 / A2 7) · Sprechen 100 P (B1 75 / A2 35). Each section is reported separately — mixed results (e.g. B1 Sprechen, A2 Hören+Lesen) are normal and printed as they come.
