The Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer (DTZ) is the official final examination for BAMF integration courses (Integrationskurs), developed by g.a.s.t. It is a scaled dual-level test: a candidate sitting the exact same paper receives either an A2 or a B1 certificate depending on their score breakdown.
The Mandatory Rule: Speaking (Sprechen) is a Gate

What happens if I fail Sprechen on the DTZ?
If your Sprechen score falls in the A2 range (16–47 pts), your overall result will be A2 even if your written parts scored B1. If Sprechen falls below 16 points (Unter A2), no certificate is awarded.
