The agreement
By using Germanium you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site — the whole course is available without an account, so agreement is genuinely optional. The operator is Divyansh Sharma (Germanium); contact: [email protected].
What Germanium is
Germanium is a structured 77-day roadmap from A1 to A2 German that is free to use, with optional paid exam kits on top. The free course sequences publicly available material (principally Deutsche Welle's Nicos Weg) and adds original grammar worksheets, review scheduling, and progress tracking. Sold separately are exam kits — downloadable mock papers, solution books and cheat sheets modelled on the Goethe, telc and ÖSD formats for A1, A2 and B1 (see Exam kits and payments below). Germanium is not an accredited language school, does not issue certificates, and makes no guarantee of any exam outcome — the exam gates and the kits model the real formats, but practising here is practice, not certification.
Exam kits and payments
Separate from the free course, Germanium features downloadable exam kits: mock papers, solution books and cheat sheets modelled on the Goethe, telc and ÖSD formats for A1, A2 and B1, plus DTZ — ten kits in total. Kits can be purchased via instant checkout (accepting all payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, UPI, Pix, and regional payment methods) or via USDT TRC-20 crypto rail. Buying is optional; nothing in the free course is locked behind a purchase.
- Secure checkout — all payment methods accepted. Instant checkout is available by credit/debit card, digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, UPI, Pix, local methods), or USDT (TRC-20).
- One payment, one kit, one account. A purchase is bound to the signed-in account that claimed it and appears on every device you sign in to. It is not a subscription: nothing renews and nothing is charged automatically.
- Refundable for 15 minutes. Every kit purchase can be refunded in full within 15 minutes of confirmation, no questions asked. The procedure is in the Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
- Don't attack the service: no scraping at volume, no credential stuffing, no automated account creation, no probing the API beyond normal use. (Sign-in runs through Auth0's hosted login page, which applies its own bot protection and captcha — these rules are enforced technically as well as legally.)
- Don't misuse other users' data. Every progress row is locked to its owner; attempting to circumvent that is both a terms violation and an offense.
- One human, one account. Automated or resold accounts may be terminated.
Your content
Your learning data (progress, worksheet answers, notes) is yours. We store it to run the product, never publish it, and delete it on request. Your imported Anki decks remain entirely yours — they are processed in your browser and never uploaded to us.
Our content
Original Germanium material — the roadmap structure, grammar worksheets, editorial articles, and design — is © the operator, all rights reserved. You may use it personally and share links freely; republishing, reselling, or bulk-copying the worksheets or curriculum is not permitted. Third-party content stays third-party: Nicos Weg and all Deutsche Welle material belong to DW and are linked, never copied; their terms govern your use of it.
Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind — including fitness for a particular purpose (say, passing a Goethe exam) or uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost progress, or data loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
What happens to my progress if Germanium shuts down?
The operator commits to at least 30 days' notice on the site before any shutdown, with an export window so every account can download its full progress row as JSON before the lights go out.
Is Germanium free to use?
The full 77-day course, all worksheets, and progress sync are free, and they stay free. What is paid is separate and optional: the exam kits unlock downloadable mock papers and solution books. There is no subscription, no advertising, and nothing in the free course is held back to push a purchase.
How do I pay for an exam kit?
You can purchase any kit instantly on the pay page using all payment methods (credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, UPI, Pix, local payment methods) through our secure checkout. Alternatively, you can pay using USDT (TRC-20) cryptocurrency.
I sent crypto on the wrong network, or the wrong amount. What happens?
A transfer that does not match the selected network, address and exact amount is not recognised as a purchase — and because crypto transfers are irreversible, it may not be recoverable at all. Email us with the transaction hash and the correct network and we will do what the chain allows: credit the kit, or return the transfer less network costs. This is why the payment page marks the selected network so prominently.
Can I use Germanium worksheets in my classroom?
For personal learning, freely. For group teaching, link students to the site rather than redistributing copies — the worksheets may not be republished or resold, but pointing a whole class at the road is welcome.
Changes and termination
- These terms may be updated; the current version is always at this page, dated above. Buying an exam kit does not opt you into a subscription, and changes never apply retroactively to a purchase already made.
- You may stop using Germanium at any time; delete your account by email request.
- The operator may suspend accounts that violate the acceptable-use rules — with notice where possible.
