How to work as a nurse in Germany from Brazil: the honest road, recognition, and the salary the agencies round up

The Germany nursing road for Brazilians: Brazil is NOT a Triple Win country — verification is the skill. §16d, B2, agency red flags, sourced salary.

Nursing is the strongest Brazilian route into Germany — and the pt-BR information market around it is the least honest one on this site's map: every result sells a program. So the first fact is the one no agency page prints: Brazil is NOT a Triple Win country. Triple Win — the Federal Employment Agency's (BA) government-to-government recruitment program — covers the Philippines, Tunisia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kerala (India) and Indonesia. There is no German-government recruiting pipeline from Brazil; every Brazilian program is a PRIVATE agency operation, some of them certified, some of them just confident. That fact reframes everything: the question is not 'which program do I apply to' but 'which road do I take, and can I verify every intermediary'.

The two real roads

RoadHow it worksWho it fits
Certified agency (agency road)A recruitment agency (Talent Orange, Nursewelt-style operators, some carrying the fair-recruitment seal / RAL Gütezeichen) matches you with a German employer, organizes language training and the visa file. Fees belong to the EMPLOYER, not youNurses with COREN registration and no German yet — the agency structures the B1→B2 climb
Direct road (§16d)You find a German employer yourself (or via the employer's own academy), get the recognition started, and apply for the §16d partial-recognition visa — the permit that lets you WORK while your recognition completesNurses who already speak German (B1+) and want to control the process

The German level: B2 is the working standard

The recognition of your COREN diploma (enfermeiro = a 4-to-5-year university degree — a favorable comparison against the German 3-year Pflegefachausbildung) runs through the Anerkennung process at the competent authority (Landesprüfungsamt / Bezirksregierung, per Land), and its working language bar is B2 — the care-professions standard, not the generic B1. The typical fork: the authority either demands an Anpassungslehrgang (adaptation course) or a Kenntnisprüfung (knowledge exam) to close the gaps it finds. The German level you need at each stage: B1 to apply and to work under the partial-recognition permit, B2 for the full recognition (Approbation/berufliche Erlaubnis). The dedicated exam exists: telc Pflege (B1·B2 Pflege) — built for exactly this lane, and rehearsed in this site's telc B1 kit.

Salary: the sourced band, not the agency number

StageThe realistic bandWhat drives it
During recognition (§16d permit)≈ €2,300–2,900/mo gross (assisting role or reduced duty)The authority decides the recognition terms; pay rises to full on recognition
Fully recognized Pflegefachkraft≈ €3,300–3,900/mo gross (tariff: TVöD-P scale, public; private varies)Shift supplements (nights/weekends) add materially
With experience/specialization€4,000+ grossFunction, Land, and collective agreement

The agencies' pages quote €3,200–4,500 — the top of the band, presented as the average. The sourced frame is the tariff structure (TVöD-P) plus the recognition stage you're actually in. And the honest cost side: German taxes and social contributions take roughly 35–40% off gross — a €3,500 gross job lands around €2,200–2,400 net, which is still a multiple of a São Paulo nursing salary but is NOT the number agencies' Instagram carousels imply.

Is Brazil part of the Triple Win program for nursing in Germany?

No. The BA's Triple Win list covers the Philippines, Tunisia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kerala (India) and Indonesia — Brazil is not on it. Every Brazilian nursing program is a private agency operation. That doesn't make the road impossible — it makes VERIFICATION the core skill: check agency certification (fair-recruitment seal), check that the employer pays the placement fee, and get the cost split in writing.

What German level do I need to work as a nurse in Germany?

B1 to apply and to work under the partial-recognition visa (§16d), B2 for full recognition — the care-sector standard. The dedicated exam is telc Pflege (B1·B2 Pflege); general Goethe/telc B2 is accepted by most authorities. Budget 12–24 months from zero to B2 with serious study — the 77-day plan covers A1→A2; the B1 kits cover the bridge.

Quanto ganha uma enfermeira brasileira na Alemanha?

During recognition (§16d permit): roughly €2,300–2,900 gross/month. Fully recognized (Pflegefachkraft): roughly €3,300–3,900 gross/month on the public TVöD-P tariff, plus shift supplements; €4,000+ with experience and specialization. Net of German taxes/social contributions (~35–40%), a €3,500 gross job pays about €2,200–2,400 net — the number the agencies' posts round up to '€4,500' is the top band, not the average.

How long does the whole process take from Brazil?

Realistic band, agency road: 12–24 months — German to B1/B2 (12–18 months is the pacing variable), recognition evaluation (3–6 months, reported band), visa filing. The direct §16d road can compress the post-language stages but requires the German first. Anyone promising arrival in 6 months from zero German is selling the date, not the road.
